Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed his respect and gratitude for U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision to end his reelection campaign on Monday. Zelenskiy commended Biden’s “tough but strong” choice and acknowledged the significant impact of Biden’s leadership on Ukraine’s fight for freedom.
“Ukraine is grateful to President Biden for his unwavering support for Ukraine’s fight for freedom, which, along with strong bipartisan support in the United States, has been and continues to be critical,” Zelenskiy stated in a post on the social media platform X.
Zelenskiy highlighted the numerous bold decisions made by Biden in recent years, particularly in response to challenging global circumstances. “Many strong decisions have been made in recent years and they will be remembered as bold steps taken by President Biden in response to challenging times. And we respect today’s tough but strong decision,” he added.
Biden’s support for Ukraine has been a cornerstone of his foreign policy, reflecting a commitment to upholding democratic values and countering aggression. This support has played a crucial role in bolstering Ukraine’s resistance against external threats and has been a key factor in maintaining international solidarity with Ukraine.
