Yoruba Group Kicks Against Northern Nomad Vigilantes

A group, Yoruba Regional Alliance of Self Determination Groups Across the World, on Wednesday, kicked against the establishment of Nomad Vigilante group by Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, describing it as an invitation to anarchy.

The group said this while addressing a press conference in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

It would be be recalled that the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, the Fulani socio-cultural Association, last week inaugurated a Nomad Vigilante group in Nasarawa State.

The Chairman and Secretary of the group, Bashorun Kunle Adesokan and Architect Opeoluwa Akinola, while addressing journalists, in Ibadan, in a speech titled, “Timely warning to prevent an impending anarchy”, warned the Federal Government not to allow such group to stay, describing such establishment as a recipe for chaos and anarchy.

The group insisted that whoever is toying with the thought of deploying the vigilante group to Yorubaland should immediately perish the thought, stating that it is unfortunate that the perpetrators of the attack on Igangan in Oyo State in 2021 have not been apprehended.

According to the group, anyone that is interested in the security of his livestock should buy a piece of land and build a ranch to quarantine the animals within a defined space, and organize the security within those boundaries.

While noting that for the fact that Yorubaland want peace does not mean it is not ready for war should anyone or group be foolish enough to dare it, the group said it vehemently abhor and reject the importation of the vagrant, roaming cattle culture and the attendant mayhem, violence and insecurity that follow into Yorubaland.

It said, “Anyone who is interested in the security of their livestock should buy a piece of land and build a ranch to quarantine their animals within a defined space, and organize their security within those boundaries.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria is hereby put on notice that this is a recipe for anarchy as we shall not accept it under any guise. The result, of course will be predictable anarchy.

“All parts of Yorubaland are advised accordingly. Under no circumstances will they be welcome or accepted anywhere in Yorubaland. Whoever is toying with that thought of deploying them to Yorubaland should immediately perish the thought.

“We must all remember what caused the “Operation “Wetie” in the 1960s and the “June 12” crisis in the 1990s. Both were the result of the Fulani’s underestimation of Yoruba resolve to resist the tyranny of the North.

“The Miyetti Allah endeavor is a recipe for chaos, anarchy and complete bedlam!

“These are trained soldiers disguised as vigilantes, and will only continue the grim culture of attacks on our people if they are alowedto functionin Yorubaland. A permanent solution is a dissolution of the Nigerian federation where each part can practice the kind of civiization they so desire. That will usher in eternal peace. We have always demanded our exit from this Nigeria

contraption and the establishment of our own nation.”
