Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni is seeking investment into the state, promising to create an enabling environment to woo investors for direct and indirect investment in production and processing of sesame seed, gum Arabic, and livestock to enhance economic growth.
Reacting to the ranking of states on ease of doing business in Nigeria, Governor Buni, noted that for Yobe, a state emerging out of protracted security challenge to have placed 9th in the country, means a lot.
He said: “This shows that we are fast moving and making Yobe state a very business-friendly state.”
He explained that with the improvement in security and introduction of incentives by the state government, Yobe Sate is committed to becoming a leading state in trade, commerce, and business generally.
Buni said: “We have completed and commissioned the international cargo airport to facilitate local and international trade and movements within and outside the country.
“Our administration has constructed modern markets with fireproof facilities to facilitate and support the business community.”
He stated that his administration has been reaching out to international traders to explore and exploit the potential in the production and processing of sesame seeds, gum Arabic, and livestock.
He promised that: “Government will improve all areas of collaboration for effective and efficient engagements to promote business activities in the state.
“I want to assure you that
government will continue to provide infrastructure to make Yobe State a business hub linking the North with Sesame seeds, Gum Arabic, and livestock consumer countries.”
