Against the backdrop of a colorful screen, Nigeria’s biggest pop stars thrilled a global audience as they churned out a medley of hits at THISDAY ARISE Group’s virtual event in commemoration of Nigeria’s 60th anniversary.
Two of the Africa’s leading lights were on show, with both Davido and Wizkid performing their latest hits, ‘FEM’ and ‘No Stress’ respectively, among many other songs.
Dressed in a colourful shirt and jeans, Davido added colour and verve to the virtual celebration of Nigeria’s diamond jubilee. The artiste belted out a medley, kicking off with the 2011 hit ‘Dami Duro’ that launched him into fame.
At an earlier interview with ARISE News, Davido said he wanted a Nigeria that his children would be proud of.
Meanwhile, ahead of his ‘Made in Lagos’ album release slated for this month, Wizkid gave a rendition of ‘Brown Skin Girl’, his duet with American star Beyoncé.
The ‘Daddy Yo’ crooner was among the African artistes that the American singer featured in her ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album, as part of the Disney live animation of the classic cartoon ‘The Lion King’. Beyoncé also featured her daughter Blue Ivy and Saint Jhn on the track.
In the spirit of Independence, the young singer wished the country more happy days. Other songs performed by the artiste include his 2014 hit single ‘Ojuelegba’ and ‘Joro’.
