Wike Vows To Demolish Buildings + Every Nigerian Now Owes N620K + Pastor Advises Men On Manhood – Trending With Ojy Okpe

Residents in the federal capital Territory Abuja, affected by the ongoing demolitions as directed by the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, are crying out for help.

On Monday, the minister vowed that his administration will continue the demolition of shanties in the capital, when he visited a demolished settlement called Ruga. The minister said shanty towns are a security risk.

During the visit, Wike also listened to protesting community members in the area, who say that over ten thousand residents have been displaced by the demolitions.

Social activist, Martins Otse, also known as Very Dark Man, visited a community of displaced persons and lamented over their living conditions in a post on X.

Nigerians have reacted to a new report by the National Bureau of Statistics, showing that the debt burden on every Nigerian has risen sharply, with the average debt per capita now standing at approximately N620 thousand Naira.

According to the Debt Management Office, Nigeria’s total public debt reached N134.297 trillion Naira, as of the second quarter of 2024, and with Nigeria’s population estimated at 216 million, the figure translates to a debt burden of N620 thousand Naira for every Nigerian citizen.

The news has elicited outrage among many Nigerians, as the figure is nearly nine times the newly approved minimum wage of N70, thousand Naira.

The chairman of the economic and financial crimes commission, Ola Olukoyede has called on the National Assembly to increase its allocation in the 2025 budget to enable it to acquire requisite state of the art technology to fight illicit financial flows and monitor trading of crypto and other virtual currencies in the country.
