The Oyo State Police Command, on Thursday, arrested Naomi Silekunola, the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, who organized the children’s carnival in Ibadan, which ended up in a stampede, claiming the lives of 35 children.
The police also arrested seven others who were part of the organizers of the event, including the principal of the Islamic High School in Bashorun, where the event took place.
The Ooni of Ife has expressed his condolences to the Oyo State government and the bereaved families. He also offered his support to the affected families and called for measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

Wike also threatened to withdraw the rights of occupancy of 614 other individuals and companies if they fail to pay outstanding bills for their plots within two weeks.
