Wike Not Afraid Of Blackmail, Vows To Continue FCT Demolishions + Peter Obi Visits Critic – Trending With  Ojy Okpe

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has responded to those calling for him to halt demolitions in the FCT, saying that no amount of blackmail will stop the demolition exercise.

On Wednesday, Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Uduaghan urged Senate President Godswill Akpabio to intervene and stop the demolition of the Paul OSA OgbeBoh Estate in Abuja.

Speaking during the distribution of operational vehicles to security agencies at the FCTA secretariat on Thursday, Wike stated that the structures being demolished are properties illegally built on government lands.

Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Ireti Kingibe, walked out of the Senate chamber on Thursday after Senate President Godswill Akpabio refused to entertain her motion regarding the FCT demolitions.

On Wednesday, Kingibe had notified the Senate of her motion to probe the ongoing demolitions, and it was agreed that the matter would be discussed the following day.

The Senate has asked the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to halt the demolitions in the nation’s capital, except for those authorized by the court.

The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi visited Donu Kogbara, an international journalist who had criticized his leadership style.

This visit followed a series of defections within the Labour Party, with Kogbara stating that she is “no longer an Obedient.”

Kogbara made the remarks during an interview with Charles Anyagolu on Arise Prime Time.

On Thursday, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, after the National Economic Council meeting presided over by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said that many state governors support the establishment of state police.

Uba Sani emphasized that the police, the army, and other relevant security agencies do not have enough personnel to cover all the states effectively.
