Naira is the article of commerce exchange sanction by Nigerian constitution. What Wigwe did was nothing short of a run on Nigerian economy. This explanation is watery and the institution deserve to have her licence suspended.
This explaination is "after the fact". Why was this not given prior to issuing the fees publication?
Wigwe University is in Nigeria with likely +80% Nigerians.
Fees MUST be quoted in Naira or can't the international student know how to convert to dollars? Then include a link to the official fx conversion site.., finish!!!
It would be ideal he specifies for local student the amount expected to be paid and the international students to pay in Dollars as it's mainly specified on the foreign institution website for EU and non EU students. That would specify a borderline between both the local and the foreign students cost.
Absolute nonsense! Abua, Ignition,Canaan etc are all private Universities with international students on their admission and their fees are on Naira. The excuse or the reasons is watery and unacceptable.
This is a very good example of the 'spins' in organizations. A serious government not controlled by cabals should stop this 'taking Nigerians for a ride'. Naira is the country's currency. Any form of dollarization is putting pressure on the Naira, and tantamounts to economic sabotage.
There's no amount of explanation that will convince Nigerians. Foreigners should bring all the dollar, pounds, Euro, Yen etc to change to Naira and pay. This guy's know the implications of what they're doing but greed wouldn't let them do the right thing. They're taking Nigerians for granted. Don't worry it's not compulsory, children school in Wigwe University after all, what is it offering that existed ones doesn't offer?
