In leaked voice note that circulated on social media at the weekend, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, revealed that Nigeria was left with no choice than to red list the United Kingdom, Canada and Saudi Arabia, and ban flights from the three countries after they had imposed similar travel restrictions on Nigeria.
The UK, Canada and Saudi Arabia shut their doors to foreign travellers originating from Nigeria after cases of the #Omicron COVID-19 variant were linked to travellers arriving from the West African country.
The UK and Saudi Arabia also took their bans a step further by suspending the issuance of #travel visas to Nigerian citizens, while Canada said it will not accept PCR tests from the country.
