US Election: Trump Promises to Usher in ‘Golden Age’ for America

Former President Donald Trump announced what he described as a “historic victory” in a speech delivered to a packed audience in Florida on Wednesday, declaring that his movement has achieved an unprecedented political feat and promising to usher in a “golden age” for America.

Describing his campaign as the “greatest political movement of all time.” He posited, “This is a movement like nobody has ever seen before and frankly this was I believe, the greatest political movement of all time, there’s never been anything like this in this country and now its going to reach a new level of importance because we are going to help our country heal.”

“We overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible,” he added, describing the win as a monumental step forward.

Trump also thanked the American people for electing him as their 47th and 45th president and expressed his commitment to fighting for every citizen, stating,

“I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president.”

“I will not rest until we have delivered this strong, safe, and proud America that our children deserve and that you deserve.”

Reflecting on the results, Trump highlighted his victories in key battleground states including North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. He also claimed leads in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Alaska, stating,

“And in addition to haven won the battleground states of north Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, we are now winning in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Alaska which would result in us carrying at least 315 electoral votes.”

Trump praised his supporters and credited them for his success, noting, “This is a magnificent victory for the American people.”

Alongside his presidential win, Trump announced that his party had regained control of the Senate, with wins in critical races across Montana, Nevada, Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. He suggested the victories were largely due to his “MAGA movement” and expressed gratitude for the voters’ support. Trump also mentioned the apparent likelihood of retaining control of the House of Representatives, calling it a testament to the movement’s impact.

Trump took a moment to thank his family, including his wife, Melania, for their support throughout the campaign. He also acknowledged his running mate, congratulating them as the “vice president-elect of the United States.”

Emphasising his goal to “make America great again,” Trump pledged to focus on national security and border control, while also expressing a commitment to legal immigration.

“We’re going to have to seal up those borders – we are going to let people come into our country,” he added, “but we have to let them come back in legally.”
