Prominent Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, took to social media to congratulate former President Donald Trump on his anticipated return to the White House following Wednesday’s election results.
Netanyahu, who has maintained a close rapport with Trump during his previous administration, expressed his excitement and support for the renewed partnership between the United States and Israel.
“Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback!” Netanyahu wrote in a message on X, directed to Trump and his wife, Melania.
“Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory!”
Netanyahu’s message reflects a sentiment shared by numerous Israeli members of Knesset who posted congratulations across social media platforms, celebrating what they see as the beginning of a new era in U.S.-Israel relations.
Many Israeli officials highlighted the previous Trump administration’s diplomatic overtures toward Israel, which included the relocation of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, the recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and the brokering of the Abraham Accords.
