Former President Donald Trump secured a decisive victory in the North Dakota Republican presidential caucuses on Monday.
According to a projection by Edison Research, Trump outperformed Nikki Haley, his sole remaining rival for the Republican presidential nomination in North Dakota. With this win, Trump is poised to strengthen his position even further during Super Tuesday, a series of contests featuring 15 states and one U.S. territory.
The primary season has seen Trump emerge victorious in the initial eight contests, and his dominance is anticipated to continue in the upcoming races.
Nikki Haley, the former U.N. ambassador, clinched her first victory in the Washington, D.C. primary on Sunday. However, despite this win, Haley faces a challenging path to the nomination, given Trump’s widespread support and consecutive victories.
The former president’s focus remains on the likely general election rematch slated for November, where he anticipates facing U.S. President Joe Biden, a Democrat.
The Super Tuesday results are expected to further solidify Trump’s hold on the Republican presidential nomination.
