Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Co-Wives in Kwara, Demand N15 million 

Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped two wives of one man in Kwara State and have demanded N15 million.

Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped two wives of one man  at Ikerin Opin in Ekiti local government councils area of Kwara state.

Already,  the abductors have demanded the sum of N15million as ransom from the family of the victims.

It was gathered that, the incident happened on last Sunday night at Ikerin Opin when the residents of the town have taken asleep.

Sources close to the town told journalists yesterday that, the unknown gunmen were said to have invaded the town at the mid night of last Sunday and kidnapped the two women who happened to be two  wives of one man   in the town.

Following this ugly development, the security agencies in the area  were said to have been deployed into the thick  forests in the town in order to rescue the victims.

Among the security agencies deployed into the thick forests of the town includes men of the civil defence, police  and Vigilante groups in the area.

Sources said that, the family of the victims were said to have been  contacted and  the abductors were said to have demanded the sum of N15million from the family.

Sources added that, the family of the victims was said to have been working round the clock so as to raise money for the release of the kidnapped wives from the abductors.

Contacted, a senior officer  at the NSCDC in the state who sought anonymity confirmed the kidnap attacks to journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday.

He said that, “We have been working with other security agencies like police and Vigilantes so as to rescue the two victims.

It would be recalled that, the National President of Isolo Opin in Ekiti local government area of the state, Mr. Joseph Alaba Kumuyi at the weekend raised the alarm over the incessant banditry and kidnapping attacks in the area.

Kumuyi  raised the alarm during the official commissioning of ultra modern Area Command office of the NSCDC built by the people of Isolo Opin to support the NSCDC against the reported cases of insecurity in the area.

He said that, the development has led many farmers to fleeing their farms due to the incessant banditry and kidnapping attacks in the area.

He therefore appealed to the government to come to the aid of the area so as to avoid the incessant attacks in the area.
