Nigeria born Kamaru Usman will once again go to war against US mix martial fighter, Jorge Masvidal when they meet on Saturday night in their eagerly-anticipated rematch at UFC 261.
The pair went head-to-head in July 2020 at UFC 251, when Usman furthered his already-glowing reputation as he showcased his phenomenal wrestling ability to secure a 50-45, 50-45 and 49-46 win on the judges scorecards.
There was bad blood in abundance ahead of the bout at Dana White’s ‘Fight Island’, but Masvidal – who took the fight on just six day’s notice after Gilbert Burns tested positive for coronavirus – was unable to end Usman’s 15-fight winning streak.
Usman has subsequently beaten his original opponent Burns at UFC 258, stopping the Brazilian in the third round after being knocked down in the first.
The welterweight king instantly pushed for a rematch with Masvidal after the fight, insisting he will come out victorious once more – even if his opponent is afforded a full training camp.
After dominating in their first encounter, Usman comes into the bout as the heavy favourite to prevail.
