Twitter has deleted Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet where he threatened to treat “those misbehaving” in “the language they understand”.
In the tweet shared on Tuesday, Buhari alluded to Nigeria’s civil war fought between 1967 and 1970, saying many of those “misbehaving” by burning electoral offices were maybe too young to understand the gravity of war.
He threatened to deal with the arsonists by treating them “in the language they understand.”
But Twitter deleted the message on Wednesday, following widespread condemnation of the tweet.
The platform said the post violated its rules.
