Trump Votes in Florida, Expresses Confidence as Americans Decide Between Him and Harris

Former U.S. President Donald Trump cast his vote on Tuesday in Palm Beach, Florida, as Americans nationwide headed to the polls in a heated election deciding whether to elect him or Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump, the Republican candidate, exuded confidence, expressing optimism about his chances and referring to what he called a “very big lead” going into Election Day.

His comments reflect signs that more Republicans are casting early votes compared to 2020, though official vote counts remain undisclosed.

Fielding questions from reporters, Trump said he would “be the first one to acknowledge” a Harris win but only if the election was conducted fairly.

“If I lose, I don’t expect there to be violence,” he added, noting his belief that his supporters “are not violent people.”

On the topic of Florida’s ballot measure for a six-week abortion ban, Trump sidestepped direct endorsement, instead reiterating his stance that individual states should have the power to regulate abortion.

He took the opportunity to commend Republicans on their role in overturning Roe v. Wade, a decision that ended the federal right to abortion.

The former president also criticised the continued use of voting machines in some counties, which he suggested could slow down the tabulation process in swing states. “They use these very expensive computers,” Trump remarked, expressing frustration over possible delays.

“In Pennsylvania, they won’t have an answer till two or three days from now. I think it’s an absolute outrage, if that’s the case.”

Trump’s criticism echoes claims made by some of his allies and conservative media in 2020, when unproven allegations of voting machine tampering led to legal challenges and significant fallout within conservative media.
