Trump Slams Zelensky For Saying Ukraine War’s End Is Still ‘Very Far Away’

Trump has criticised Zelensky’s remark that the Ukraine war is “very, very far away” from ending, questioning the statement.

US President Donald Trump has criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for stating that the end of the war with Russia remains “very, very far away.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump questioned Zelensky’s stance, asking, “What are they thinking?” His remarks follow a European leaders’ summit on Sunday, where they acknowledged that peace in Ukraine cannot be guaranteed without US support.

Zelensky’s visit to the UK over the weekend came on the heels of a tense exchange with Trump and Republican Senator JD Vance in the Oval Office on Friday. While tensions between the US and Ukraine remain high, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer assured Parliament that Trump’s commitment to securing peace in Ukraine is genuine.

“The US is vital to securing peace, and Britain will play a leading role in achieving it,” Starmer stated. He also announced a four-point plan to collaborate with Ukraine in ending the war and defending the country against Russian aggression.

As global leaders navigate diplomatic tensions, Ukraine’s future remains uncertain, with increasing pressure on the US to play a decisive role in the peace process.
