Donald Trump has implied that he has Taylor Swift’s support after sharing fake images on social media showing the singer and her fans backing him.
The Republican presidential candidate posted the message “I accept!” along with the images, which had originally come from other social media sources, many of which seem to have been made using artificial intelligence.
The post triggered a backlash among Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, who accused Trump of spreading false information. Taylor Swift has not endorsed any candidate in the 2024 election, although she supported Democrats in 2020 and criticised Trump during his presidency.
One of the photos shared by Trump showed Swift fans wearing shirts with the slogan: “Swifties for Trump.” The post appeared to be labelled as “satire” and included a headline that said, “Swifties turning to Trump after ISIS foiled Taylor Swift concert.” Swift recently cancelled three concerts in Vienna due to a potential7 security threat, and two people were arrested on suspicion of planning ISIS-inspired attacks.
Another image re-shared by Trump imitated a World War I U.S. army recruitment poster, replacing Uncle Sam’s face with Swift’s and reading, “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.” NBC News reported that two of the images Trump re-shared actually featured real women who support Trump.
Swift backed the Democratic Party in the 2020 election and criticised Trump during the national protests following George.

Earlier this year, there were numerous deep fakes showing Black people endorsing Trump, but there was no evidence linking these images to Trump’s campaign.
