Trump Expands Advisory Team With Another In-Law Appointment

Donald Trump has appointed Massad Boulos, the father-in-law of his daughter Tiffany, as an adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.

The Lebanese American businessman is the second in-law to join the incoming administration, following the appointment of Charles Kushner, Ivanka Trump’s father-in-law, as ambassador to France.

Boulos played a significant unofficial role in Trump’s campaign, helping to attract Arab American and Muslim voters who became disillusioned with the Biden administration over the Israel-Gaza conflict.

Trump announced the appointment on social media, praising Boulos for his instrumental role in building strong new coalitions with the Arab American community.

Trump stated on Truth Social, calling Boulos an “asset” to his campaign, “He has been a longtime proponent of Republican and Conservative values.”

On the campaign trail, Boulos appealed to Arab American and Muslim voters by assuring them that Trump would restore peace in the Middle East.

His efforts highlighted a significant weakness in the Harris campaign, which struggled to gain support from Arab and Muslim Americans due to the US’s backing of Israel during the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

“Those massacres would not have happened if there was a strong president in the White House,” Boulos told Trump supporters in Arizona earlier this year, referring to the increasing civilian casualties in Gaza. “The entire war wouldn’t have happened.”

It remains unclear how Boulos plans to use his advisory role. Born in Lebanon, he has established connections with various political factions in his home country.
