The Edo State Government has suspended the Principal of Edo College, Benin City, Peter Edomwonyi, and House Master of Akenzua Hall, Oamen Stanley, over the viral social media video of abuse by some students, who were taking their National Examinations Council final papers.
Meanwhile, in Bayelsa, the state government has uncovered 612 ghost workers in primary schools said to be on government payroll.
A video has emerged on social media in which pupils in northeastern Nigeria were being escorted to school by soldiers. In the video, the pupils could be seen reciting the country’s state and capitals as they walked behind the security operatives.
