Due to strong demand from both domestic and foreign markets, Toyota Motor’s worldwide production increased 11% in November to a record high, recovering from supply chain interruptions the previous year.
In November, production reached 926,573 cars, and global sales rose 14% over the previous year despite automakers experiencing severe semiconductors shortages. Both figures include Toyota’s Lexus luxury brand.
The month’s domestic sales jumped by 27%, as sales in China and the US increased by 17% and Europe by 15%.
The result puts the world’s largest automaker on track for global sales of more than 10 million Toyota and Lexus-branded vehicles in 2023, which is also a record.
Approximately one-third of the cars sold so far this year have been gasoline-electric hybrids.
