Thomas Tuchel claimed a valuable second successive win as Chelsea boss in Thursday’s London derby against Tottenham, who crashed to a third successive defeat under Jose Mourinho.
Jorginho’s powerfully struck first-half penalty was enough to claim capital bragging rights after Eric Dier was penalised for a rash foul on Timo Werner.
While Tuchel’s Chelsea reign now has real lift off as the Blues claimed back-to-back wins for the first time since November, Spurs continue to flounder and have lost three successive Premier League matches for the first time since the reign of Andre Villas-Boas in November 2012.
The loss to Chelsea is also the first back to back home league defeat for Mourinho in his managerial career.
