The President-elect and Vice President Elect of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, have been moved into the Defence House in Abuja in anticipation of their inauguration on the 29th of May.
The Director of Media and Publicity for the All-Progressive’s Congress (APC) presidential campaign, Bayo Onanuga, announced through a tweet that the President and his Vice had been moved to the official villa located in the Maitama district of Abuja.
Following his return to Nigeria, after a leave of absence to rest, Tinubu and Shettima were accompanied to the official house by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, the national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu, the speaker of the house of representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, among others. There, they will be working on official and state matters, after which they will be moved into Aso Rock, the official residence of the President, following the inauguration.
Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who polled 6,984,520 votes and 6,101,533 votes respectively. Both parties are currently challenging Tinubu’s victory in court.
