In Niger State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday flagged off the Food Security and Agricultural Mechanization Programme, emphasizing that his administration remains committed to ensuring food sufficiency and protecting local industries for sustainable economic growth.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the President declared that Nigeria must enhance its capacity to feed its people and have enough for export, he also urged state Governors , to implement wage awards as an immediate intervention measure to support the federal government’s efforts and urged citizens to stop blaming governments of the past or present but to do their best, in re-engineering the finances of the future. The Governor of Niger State, Umar Bago who introduced the agricultural machinery for the large-scale agro-value chain development in the state met with some children who he asked to choose between being a farmer or a governor.
