President Bola Tinubu is meeting with the leadership of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House, Abuja.
The meeting, which has in attendance the party’s candidate for the 2024 governorship election in the state, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Hon Dennis Idahosa, is aimed at sorting out some grey areas.
Although the agenda of the meeting was sketchy, a source at the meeting said one of the resolutions was for the running mate, Idahosa, to withdraw his protest litigation against the candidature of Okpebholo.
Those attending the meeting, holding in the President’s office are the National Chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje; Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole; former representative of Edo South in the Senate, Matthew Urhoghide among others.
The primary election that eventually produced Okpebholo as candidate had initially ran into a controversy as Idahosa was first declared by the Governor Hope Uzodinma-led committee.
The first round of primary was, however, declared inconclusive by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, owing to a number of irregularities.
