The internal wranglings within the governing All progressives congress took a dramatic turn over the weekend after President Muhammadu Buhari during the campaign rally held in Nasarawa State endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu the party’s flag bearer as the next president of Nigeria.
Buhari’s comments come after Tinubu’s outburst during the party’s presidential rally in Ogun state where he expressed dissatisfaction over the fuel and currency scarcity in the country. Meanwhile, Buhari’s endorsement has generated several reactions from a cross section of Nigerians, Yakubu Dogara a former speaker of the house of representatives, in a tweet on Sunday described Buhari’s endorsement of Tinubu as a joke taken too far Festus Keyamo, spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council, in a swift response to Dogara’s tweet described him as a political prostitute and backstabber.
In the wake of President Mohammadu Buhari’s appeal to Nigerians to exercise patience over the scarcity of the redesigned currency and the central bank governor’s revelation that commercial banks are complicit in the Naira Scarcity, and as such have compromised the redesign policy new videos have emerged showing some commercial banks hoarding the redesigned currency some monies were found stashed behind old Naira notes in their vaults Finally, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, over the weekend during a PDP campaign rally in the state said those who are in support of the CBN naira redesign policy are enemies of the nation and that President Muhammadu Buhari was misled into approving the naira redesign policy.
