Tinubu Announces Free Train Rides, 50% Subsidy On Road Travel For ‘Masses’ During Yuletide

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, has announced subsidy on road and rail travel for Nigerians during Yuletide.

In the announcement made by Chairman, inter-ministerial committee on presidential intervention, Dele Alake, it was stated that Nigerians can travel via buses at 50% discount. 

This directive is to be implemented starting on the December 21 till January 4. 

Alake said “Air travel was considered but the president’s initiative is to consider the masses. Masses don’t travel by air.”

He also stated that this would apply to only luxurious buses on 22 routes.
