Tinubu Addresses Joint Sitting of National Assembly, Thanks Lawmakers for Sustainimg Democracy 

Tinubu spent 27 minutes gracing the joint session of the National Assembly, marking 25 years of unbroken democracy in Nigeria.

Nigeria President Bola Tinubu has addressed both chambers of the National Assembly , charging federal lawmakers to continue to work with themselves irrespective of their political divide to build the institution of the parliament and the nation.

Tinubu spent roughly 27 minutes gracing the joint session of the National Assembly , marking 25 years of unbroken democracy in the country.

The President told the federal lawmakers that only Nigerians can create a glorious future for themselves , stressing that no amount of foreign aids or support can do it for the country.

He charged the lawmakers to build the nation and bequeath to generations unborn a glorious future.

The President also used the occasion to announce that he would be sending the budget for 2024 to the National Assembly. It’s not clear if the President actually meant 2025 budget or was referring to a supplementary 2024 budget.

President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, later clarified saying the National Assembly would be waiting to receive the President’s request for supplementary budget for 2024.
