Tension has heightened in the southeastern part of Nigeria in the past months as assaults on security formations and electoral offices as well as killings have become widespread in the region, particularly in Imo State.
Goddy Uwazurike, a prominent lawyer and former president of Igbo think tank group Aka Ikenga, joined ARISE NEWS on Tuesday to discuss the security situation in the southeast, and efforts to restore peace in the region.
He is adamant that the so-called ” Unknown Gunmen” are not of Igbo extraction but “foreigners” sponsored to destabilise the region for political reasons.
