Stranded Students in Ukraine Call for Help – Arise Special Report

Hundreds of international students trapped in Ukraine by Russia’s invasion are still appealing for help.

Despite the ongoing evacuation by Nigeria and with hundreds fleeing to other countries surrounding Ukraine, over 600 medical students from Nigeria, Morocco, Tanzania, Congo and India are trapped in the Sumy city of the eastern European country as fierce battles between Russian and Ukrainian forces rage continue.

In a video, the students claim they are not being allowed to leave. They say they are being used as a shield as Russia continues to launch attacks on Ukraine.

Arise News understands that there’s no public transportation available in Sumy, which has come under heavy fire in recent days, leaving roads and bridges destroyed.
