South Korean actor, Song Jae-Rim known for his roles in K-dramas such as “Moon Embracing the Sun” and “Queen Woo,” has been found dead at his residence in Seoul.
He was 39.
Officials from the Seongdong District Police in Seoul have not yet commented on the cause of death. However, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, citing anonymous police sources, reported that a note was found at Song’s home, where he was discovered on Tuesday by a friend who had planned to have lunch with him. Police noted there were no signs of foul play.
Song began his acting career with the 2009 film “Actresses” and gained widespread recognition in 2012 after his role as a royal guard in “Moon Embracing the Sun,” a hit fantasy drama portraying the romance between a Korean king and a shaman.
In addition to his acting roles, Song appeared in the popular celebrity reality show “We Got Married” in 2014 and had a supporting role in this year’s streaming series “Queen Woo,” another historical fantasy depicting power struggles among ancient royals.
