Senate minority leader Enyinnaya Abaribe has blamed the Nigerian government for the actions and tag associated with the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Mr Abaribe questioned the trend of the federal government leaving people who have shot down a military aircraft without designating them as terrorists but quickly call the IPOB group terrorists.

According to the lawmaker, if the federal government is interested in having peace in the southeast it should not be seen dismissing the option of talking to the proscribed group and seen speaking with the people that shot down a military aircraft.
