SAT West Africa Prepares To Showcase Summer Travel Experiences As Indaba Countdown Begins

As the anticipation for Africa’s Travel Indaba 2024 builds up, South African Tourism West Africa is gearing up to highlight the best of South African summer travel experiences to the West African market.

The prestigious tourism trade show is scheduled to take place from May 13th to 16th at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC), promising a vibrant platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and business transactions.

Africa’s Travel Indaba is renowned as one of the largest global tourism trade shows, drawing thousands of participants, including exhibitors from various African nations and buyers worldwide.

Beyond facilitating business interactions, the event focuses on capacity building and knowledge exchange, benefiting all attendees, including smaller and emerging businesses in the tourism industry.

The 2024 edition of Africa’s Travel Indaba is expected to offer unparalleled value for delegates, featuring tailored networking sessions, insightful panel discussions, speed marketing sessions highlighting new tourism products, and a sophisticated match-making diary system.

Additionally, attendees can explore airline and tourism grading council pavilions and discover a wide array of products from across the African tourism sector.

With remarkable growth witnessed in the 2023 edition, including a nearly 62% increase in attendance and over 1033 exhibiting companies, Africa’s Travel Indaba continues to underscore its significance in the tourism landscape.

The event contributed significantly to eThekwini’s GDP and KwaZulu-Natal’s economy, highlighting its positive economic impact.

The participation of twenty-six African countries further solidifies Africa’s Travel Indaba as a proudly Pan African show. Moreover, the inclusion of 120 SMMEs in the Hidden Gems zone, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, demonstrates a commitment to supporting small businesses in the tourism sector.

This year, the West Africa office of South African Tourism will host select trade and media partners on a pre-tour of the Kwazulu Natal province, providing them with an opportunity to engage directly with South African tourism suppliers and discover the perfect summer getaways for their clients.

Africa’s Travel Indaba serves as a testament to the continent’s thriving tourism industry and presents an excellent opportunity for South African Tourism West Africa to forge partnerships and collaboration across Africa.
