The Ukrainian Air Force reported on Friday that Russian forces launched an overnight attack using 19 drones targeting critical infrastructure across the country. Ukraine’s air defenses successfully shot down nine of the drones, while seven others were likely affected by electronic jamming. The fate of the remaining three drones was not specified.
In Kyiv, an apartment building sustained damage, though no casualties were reported, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. He added that a fire caused by the attack was quickly extinguished.
In the central Kirovohrad region, a business administrative building was also damaged, leaving one employee with minor injuries, according to Governor Andriy Raykovych. Meanwhile, in the southern Kherson region, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported that Russian forces had struck critical infrastructure, utility facilities, and 35 private homes over the past day. These attacks claimed the life of one person and left four others injured.
The escalation in drone strikes continues to impact civilians and vital services in Ukraine, as the country remains resilient amid ongoing assaults.
