Women under the aegis of ‘Rivers Women Unite for Sim (RWUS)’ have embarked on monthly prayer intersession for the led government of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in Rivers state.
The women in their thousands organised the prayer outreach for the successful government and peace of the state.
The group led by Mrs Sotonye Fulton, explained that the monthly programme which is envelope with praise and worship is targeted at seeking God’s mercy for the state, and praying that the glory of God should shine upon the governor and his team for a successful leadership.
The programme which was held at the auditorium of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Port Harcourt, had the theme “Tear down the walls of Jericho with praise”.
Speaking during the programme, the Deputy governor, Prof Ngozi Odu who was present, thanked the women for initiating and keeping alive the prayer section.
Prof Odu noted that there is strength in togetherness, urging the women to keep doing what is right and support the government as it continues to fulfill its promises to the people.
The Deputy governor assured her participation at the monthly prayers session.
Addressing the women also, wife of the governor, Mrs Valerie Fubara, emphasised the need for prayers and supplication for the state.
Mrs Fubara also expressed happiness to be part of the prayer section. She recalled how Rivers women recently had a long walk in the state capital, Port Harcourt, in support of her husband, the governor.
To the women, the wife of the governor pleaded “Please my dear women, don’t give up. This is our government. It is your prayers that changed every negative spoken words and your continuous prayers will make the Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration succeed”.
