Director General Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, addresses Nigerians on the importance of competence over religious or ethnic bias in the 2023 elections, stating that the APC’s candidate represents the best opportunity for the country to tackle surmounting challenges.
Recall that the APC’s presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu picked former Governor of Borno State Kashim Shetttima, a fellow Muslim, as his running mate which sparked an uproar amongst the Christians in Nigeria who felt excluded by the choice of a Muslim – Muslim ticket. This was highlighted by the vehement rejection of the ticket by the Christian Association of Nigeria.
In response to this controversy, Okechukwu insists that the APC’s Muslim – Muslim ticket is the best representation of competent governance projected for 2023.
He encourages Nigerians to put religion and ethnicity on the back burner when voting and instead focus on pushing the country ahead.
