Real Madrid Want to Host Tennis Match Between Nadal and Federer to Set New Attendance Record of 80,000

This would smash the current record of 35,681 when Kim Clijsters beat Serena Williams in Brussels in 2010.

Real Madrid want to stage a tennis match between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at the Bernabeu.

Real president Florentino Perez has told club members of his plan to host the event as he looks to smash the sport’s attendance record.

According to ABC, Perez has told Nadal of his plans to host the encounter in front of 80,000 fans at the Bernabeu.

This would smash the current record that stands at 35,681 when Kim Clijsters beat Serena Williams in an exhibition game in Brussels in 2010.

Nadal and Federer are expected to break the record when they meet in Cape Town next year with 50,000 fans expected to turn out.

However, Perez’s plans would blow that record out of the water as well.
