Rawlings Believed African Leaders Didn’t Do Enough For Their People, Says Film Maker Oduwole

Zuriel Oduwole is the world-famous filmmaker and girl child education advocate, who in her several interactions with the late Jerry Rawlings a former Ghanaian President, said he believed African leaders did not do enough for their countries.

Ms. Oduwole made an appearance on ARISE News and revealed some of the conversations she had with the former Ghanaian leader.

“He’s always talked about, how sometimes some African leaders, he thinks they don’t do enough for their people or how sometimes they try and stay in office when they should step aside for younger generations and become statesmen who advise their nation,” she said.

She added that “I know President Rawlings left quietly after his two terms were up, he lives in a modest house, a modest office and so he taught he a lot of lessons and one of those things was leadership.”
