Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a temporary ceasefire in the ongoing war in Ukraine, according to a statement released by the Kremlin.
The ceasefire is scheduled to run from 8 May to 11 May, with the announcement made via the Kremlin’s official Telegram channel.
As at the time of this report, Ukraine has not issued any formal response to Moscow’s declaration.
The announcement comes amid heightened tensions and international efforts to secure a pause in hostilities, although previous ceasefire proposals have often failed to hold on the ground.
