Prophet Isa El-Buba: Tinubu Should Overhaul His Cabinet, Over 85% Are Non-Functional And Wasting Resources

The convener of the initiative for a better and brighter Nigeria, Prophet Isa El-Buba, has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to do a Cabinet Overhaul as 85% of his cabinet members are non-functional and are wasting resources.

The general overseer, El-Buba outreach ministries international (EBOMI), said this while speaking in an interview with ARISE NEWS on Thursday about the ongoing youth nationwide protest.

Highlighting the inefficiency within the current administration, El-Buba called for a significant reduction in the size of the cabinet. “85% of the members of the cabinet are non-functional, they are just wasting resources. The president needs to cut down on the cost of governance. The president could have cut down on his total allowance,” he asserted.

Prophet El-Buba also dismissed the notion that the economic hardships currently faced by Nigerians are solely the legacy of the previous administration under President Mohammadu Buhari. “The administration of Buhari was Buhari and Tinubu’s administration. In the last eight years, many of the ministers you see there were given by Tinubu. Tinubu was the leader of the party. He is responsible,” El-Buba stated, holding the current president accountable for the ongoing crisis.

Reflecting on the current state of the nation, he said, “This president threw Nigerians into uncommon pain. I have never seen Nigerians in pain like they currently are.”

El-Buba, who played a prominent role in leading a peaceful protest in Plateau State, emphasised that his actions were driven by his calling as a prophet. “True prophets are restorers of value. They are people who raise the standard of what society needs to look like. They are not materialistic and can not be bought. They actually stand for the purpose of God on earth,” he explained.

He also addressed the frequent misinterpretation of scripture, particularly Romans 13:1-3, which urges submission to governing authorities. “You have to understand the context of that scripture. It did not say we should cover the iniquities of leaders. It is saying you sustain institutions by invoking the power of God. That’s why the same Paul said in the book of 2 Timothy that all scripture is given for rebuke, admonition, correction, and righteousness.”

Expressing his discontent with the response of the president to the protest, the prophet stated, “The president Tinubu’s address was out of point. There is no protest that has given such a long notice like this one. I was expecting the president on four things: I have heard your cry, and my government will work on the reinstatement of the subsidy.

“On agriculture, I am instructing the minister to deploy all the required instruments. I am instructing the military to cover the farmers on the farm. They said they sent fertilizers to farmers and bags of rice to families, and I never saw them. The third is to withdraw the electricity tariff. The fourth is to quickly instruct the armed forces to quickly act on the state of security.”

Despite the challenges and criticisms, El-Buba remains hopeful and determined to continue his prophetic mission. “That’s the office of the prophet, sometimes they don’t go with the multitude,” he said, affirming his commitment to guiding the nation towards a better future.
