The Palace of the Obi of Owa Kingdom in Delta State, South South Nigeria, has announced the death of Princess Margaret Obaigbena (nee Usifoh) after a brief illness.
Princess Obaigbena who is survived by five children including the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of the Thisday/Arise Media Group, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, died just before midnight at a London hospital.
As a young woman, she studied nursing and rose to become the Chief Nursing Officer of the defunct Bendel State Goverment and later Delta State Government.
She also served as a special adviser to three Delta State governors.
Her funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.
