President Tinubu Set to Deliver Key Remarks on Hunger, Poverty At G20 Summit Opening Session

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is attending the opening session of the 2024 G-20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, the president was warmly received by host President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his wife upon arrival at the summit venue. 

The opening session of this year’s G-20 summit focuses on combating hunger and poverty, issues that remain critical global challenges. Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that President Tinubu will deliver key remarks during the session. His contributions are expected to highlight the need for sustainable solutions to these issues, alongside advocating for reforms in global governance institutions. 

The discussions in the opening session provide an opportunity for world leaders to collaborate on policies aimed at eradicating hunger and poverty while addressing systemic inequalities within international governance structures.
