President Bola Tinubu has joined the Government and people of Ondo State in mourning the death of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Temitayo Oluwatuyi, fondly called Tukana.
Oluwatuyi passed away on Saturday after being hospitalised for serious injuries sustained in a ghastly car accident on December 15, 2024, while traveling to Ibadan.
In a statement issued by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed heartfelt condolences to Oluwatuyi’s family, friends, and political associates.
He praised the deceased’s unwavering dedication to public service and his pivotal role in strengthening democracy in Ondo State. Tinubu highlighted Oluwatuyi’s diligence as a former Chairman of Akure South Local Government and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, noting his significant contributions to policy implementation and the state’s development.
The Ondo State Government also paid tribute to Oluwatuyi in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Wale Akinlosotu, describing him as a dedicated public servant whose work in administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation left an indelible mark.
“He served with distinction and played a crucial role in the state government, working closely with the Governor and other top officials of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Having served in various capacities, including as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and twice as SSG, Hon. Oluwatuyi will forever be remembered for his invaluable contributions to the development of Ondo State,” Akinlosotu said.
Oluwatuyi, first appointed SSG by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in 2020, was reappointed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. His unwavering commitment to public service earned him many recognitions, making him a key figure in the state’s governance.
The Ondo State Government extended its deepest condolences to Oluwatuyi’s family, friends, and associates during this difficult time.
President Tinubu also prayed for God’s comfort and solace for the grieving family and for the repose of Oluwatuyi’s soul.
