President Tinubu, in a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and strategy Bayo Onaniga, has expressed optimism for the future of US-Nigeria relations under Trump’s leadership.
The President highlighted his commitment to deepening the relationship between Nigeria and the US, citing the complex global challenges facing both nations.
“Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that affect our citizens,” Tinubu stated.
Tinubu also noted that Trump’s victory demonstrates the trust and confidence the American people have placed in his leadership. He commended Americans for their dedication to democratic values, saying Trump’s experience as the 45th President would bring “an era of earnest, beneficial, and reciprocal economic and development partnerships between Africa and the United States.”
Recognising the United States’ influential role in global affairs, President Tinubu expressed confidence that Trump’s leadership will advance international peace and prosperity.
Tinubu believes the renewed partnership will provide opportunities for economic growth and collaboration on security issues that affect both Africa and the U.S.
