The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced a significant power outage across its network due to a system collapse.
The announcement was made through the company’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday evening, leaving many areas without electricity.
The system failure, which occurred at approximately 6:48 PM (18:48hrs), was confirmed by EKEDC, citing the incident as the cause of the widespread blackout.
“Dear Valued Customer, kindly be informed there was a system collapse at 18:48hrs which has resulted in a loss of power supply across our network,” the company stated in its message.
In response, the company assured customers that efforts were underway to resolve the issue. “We are currently working with our partners as we hope for speedy restoration of the grid. We will keep you updated as soon as power supply is restored. Kindly bear with us,” EKEDC added.
EKEDC’s technical team is reportedly working alongside the national grid authorities to restore electricity as soon as possible.
