Reigning UEFA Nations League champions Portugal will welcome France to the Estadio da Luz on Saturday in a decisive game in Group A3 and will see star striker Cristiano Ronaldo feature after starting on the bench for Portugal’s 7-0 win over Andorra on Wednesday, having picked up an ankle injury.
Portugal head coach Fernando Santos admitted on Friday that the match would be “like a final”.
France and Portugal are level on 10 points with two games remaining, but Santos’ side sits top of the group courtesy of a superior goal difference.
Didier Deschamps’ men suffered a shock defeat to Finland 2-0 in a friendly on Wednesday, but Portugal comes into the match on the back of a 7-0 rout over Andorra in Lisbon.
Portugal and France played out a goalless draw in the reverse fixture last month in Paris.
