Pope Francis’ funeral has taken place in the Vatican, and his coffin has now arrived at the church in Rome where he will be buried.
The coffin of Pope Francis has just been taken inside Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica in Rome, which will serve as the late Pope’s final resting place.
A short, private service will take place at the basilica.
The Vatican announced earlier that people will be able to visit Francis’ tomb from Sunday morning.
Francis’ body will be buried in the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, making him the first pope since Leo XIII, who died in 1903, to be buried outside the Vatican.
