Following some resolutions after a tripartite meeting with Federal Ministry of Education, the National Board for Technical Education, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic say it has set aside the a fifteen days ultimatum earlier given to commence an industrial action.
This is content in a press statement by the Katsina Polytechnic chapter of the Union which adds that the National Executive Council has met and resolved to set aside the fifteen days ultimatum since its demands are being substantially addressed.
The statement added that the Union expressedappreciation thus ” we appreciate our members steadfastness in the face of this unearned provocation; the intervention and inputs of different stallholders including Rectors of Polytechnics, sisters staff Unions, and the Students through the National Association of Polytechnic Students.”
But it pointed out that the Union is now observing a one month stay action period to monitor the implementation of the resolutions of tripartite meeting by the National Board for Technical Education.
