Fela and the Kalakuta Queens Screening in South Africa

American actor Michael K. Williams, popularly known as the rogue robber of drug dealers Omar Little on “The Wire” was found dead on Monday afternoon by family members in his Brooklyn penthouse apartment in New York as his death is being investigated as a possible drug overdose.

He passed away at the age of 54. Meanwhile, having received a staggering number of 8,880 entries for the 2021 All Africa Music Awards at the close of submission of entries in August,

The African Union Commission and The International Committee of the AFRIMA awards had a Patrons dinner in line with its calendar leading up to the award show itself.

Finally, the collaboration with the South African State Theatre in partnership with Ster-kinekor, is set to screen Bolanle Austen-Peters’ stage musical’Fela and the Kalakuta Queens’ in cinemas across South Africa from September to October 2021
