A protest against bad governance turned deadly in Plateau state on Sunday when one person was killed in the Bauchi Road area of Jos North Local Government. The protest, which began on August 1, calling an end to bad governance and hunger, took a different dimension when thousands of youths and children took to the streets, with some attacking businesses and markets.
Alfred Alubo, the Public Relations Officer of the Plateau State Command, confirmed the incident. He stated that security operatives have been deployed to the affected areas to prevent further escalation and urged the youths not to take the law into their own hands.
Alubo also mentioned that several arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing to understand the situation better.
